![]() ![]() The park's different gardens allow visitors to also appreciate the climatic conditions and environments from drought to fog, desert to forest that exist inĬalifornia. Each of those areas, from Mediterranean Europe to western Australia, is featured in its own location in the park. The gardens of the park showcase the wide variety of plants that grow in California's Mediterranean climate as well as the diversity of plants from several of the world's other Mediterranean climate zones. Tthe soil and dense planting in the park help offset the urban heat island effect by lowering the air temperature. This 5.4 acre park has a layered soil system thatīalances seismic shifting, collects and filters stormwater, and irrigates the gardens. It is a very innovative rooftop park with free events and activities year round for people of all ages. On the five-acre top of the structure is Salesforce Park. Food trucks and pop-up carts bring a variety of food choices along with a few cafes. There are many bus bays on the third level for the bus connections. It is a massive structure with over a million square feet and the structure is over 1200 feet long. It is adjacent to the Salesforce Tower, now the tallest building in San Francisco. ![]() The Salesforce Transit Center replaced the old Transbay Terminal which was a location for the various non San Francisco Bus systems and distant bus services (like Greyhound) would use as the bus terminal in downtown SF and connect to each other and SF Muni and BART systems. ![]()
